The NWTRPA is excited to introduce our Board of Directors for 2026/2027! These dedicated volunteers bring experience, energy, and a shared commitment to recreation, community well-being, and connections to the land.

Together, they’ll help guide the NWTRPA as we continue working alongside communities across the NWT to support meaningful recreation opportunities and community connections.

At the AGM in N’Dılǫ

Board positions were filled by acclamation at our recent AGM in N’dilo. Thank you to everyone who attended and put their name forward to support recreation across the territory.

The South Slave Regional Director position remains vacant. The Board is considering the next steps to fill this position.

Welcome Back, Liz Pope!

We’re happy to welcome Liz Pope back to the Board as our Sahtu Regional Director! Liz has previously served as a Director at Large, and we’re pleased to have her experience and perspective around the table again.

Liz is a Program Support Teacher at Chief T’Selehye School in Rádeyı̨lı̨kóé / Fort Good Hope and a dedicated champion of student sports and community recreation. She helps students access teams and travel opportunities and has supported skiing, snowshoeing, and efforts to bring fiddle lessons to the community. A certified yoga instructor, Liz brings extensive board and committee experience in education, literacy, friendship centres, and recreation. She is committed to creating opportunities for people to participate, connect, and thrive through recreation across the NWT.
