Participate in setting the direction of the NWTRPA by voting at the Annual General Meeting and on key board matters. (Note: Corporate and Individual who did not pay for an NWTRPA event/activity do not have voting rights.)

Take on a leadership role with the NWTRPA or get involved with national organizations like CPRA. (Note: only for event/activity paying members)

Membership Categories

1. Individual (Voting)

Available to anyone involved or interested in recreation and parks. Gain voting rights by registering for a paid NWTRPA event/program.

  • Cost: Price of the event/program

  • Term: From the first day of the annual conference to the day before the next

  • Note: Voting rights expire at the start of the next annual conference

2. Individual (Non-Voting)

For those who attend free NWTRPA or whose voting membership has expired.

  • Cost: Free

  • Term: Ongoing, unless withdrawn, expelled, or terminated

3. Corporate (Non-Voting)

Open to organizations aligned with NWTRPA’s mission. May designate one representative with full privileges (excluding voting).

  • Cost: Free with sponsorship

  • Term: Ongoing, unless withdrawn, expelled, or terminated

4. Honorary Life Member (Voting)

Awarded in rare cases to individuals with outstanding contributions to NWTRPA’s mission.

  • Cost: Free

  • Term: Ongoing, unless withdrawn, expelled, or terminated

  • Restriction: Board-approved invitation only

The NWTRPA is also a partner of the NWT On The Land Collaborative, a collective of diverse partners pooling their expertise and resources to support on the land programming in the NWT.
