Meet the New NWTRPA Board Members

The NWTRPA is excited to introduce the newest members of our Board of Directors! Each of
these dedicated volunteers bring their own experience, energy, and passion for recreation,
community well-being, and land-based learning.
Together, they’ll help guide the NWTRPA as we continue working alongside communities across
the NWT to promote healthy, active lifestyles and connections to the land.
Voted In at the 2025 AGM in Inuvik

These new board members were officially welcomed to the NWTRPA family during our recent
Conference and AGM in Inuuvik/Inuvik. It was a wonderful gathering of recreation leaders,
Elders, youth, and community member, all coming together to celebrate recreation in the North
and look ahead to the future.
Thank you to everyone who attended, ran, and voted during the AGM.
At the AGM, the NWTRPA membership elected 4 members. We are excited to welcome Heather
Atkins *Acclaimed (Director at Large), Johanna Elliot *Re-elected (Yellowknife Director), Britney
Nadli *Acclaimed (Dehcho Regional Director), and Jerome Gordon (Beaufort/Delta Regional
Director) to our Board!
Meet Our New Board Members
Jerome Gordon, Beaufort/Delta Director

Jerome grew up immersed in the traditional knowledge of the Inuvialuit and Gwich’in cultures.
He is the Mental Health and Wellness Manager with the Inuvik Community Corporation and a
dedicated advocate for smaller communities. Jerome joins the NWTRPA to strengthen
recreation, wellness, and cultural connections across the North.
Britney Nadli, Dehcho Director

A proud member of the Deh Gáh Got’îê First Nation, Britney is passionate about creating safe,
inclusive, and culturally grounded spaces that reflect Dene values and strengthen community
wellbeing. Britney brings lived experience, collaboration, and a deep commitment to
representing the voices of the Dehcho at the NWTRPA.

Thank You to Our Outgoing Board Member
We’d also like to take a moment to thank our outgoing board member, Liz Pope for her
leadership, commitment, and knowledge. Your contributions have helped shape the NWTRPA’s
vision and supported recreation initiatives across the North.
Looking Forward Together

With new voices around the table and strong partnerships across the territory, we’re excited
for what lies ahead. The NWTRPA Board of Directors plays an essential role in guiding our
organization, and we’re so proud to welcome these new volunteers into that work.
