Paddle Canada: Introduction to Tandem Lake Canoeing
The Introduction to Lake Canoeing course introduces beginner tandem paddlers how to paddle with a partner in calm sheltered waters.

About the Event
Participants will be introduced to the basic paddling strokes and land and water rescues techniques. At the end of the course participants will have the confidence and basic skills to venture out on short paddling adventures.
This training is suitable for those who take people canoeing out on the land, including program leaders, on the land program camp staff, and guides.Â
This course will be taught by Jackpine Paddle on Monday, June 19, 2023.

Participants are responsible for bringing their own water, snacks and lunch. We will take a lunch break from 12:00pm – 1:00pm.
Cost
Collaborative Grant Recipients: Free
NWTRPA Members: $125 + GST
Non-members: $175 + GST
Registration Deadline: June 14, 2023
What to Bring:
- Water bottle/thermos, snacks, lunch
- Layered quick-dry clothing and gear to spend hours on the water (extra change of clothing, warm sweater, rainjacket, hat, towel, watershoes/sandals)
- Sunscreen + Insect RepellantÂ
- Wetsuit/rashguard is recommended for canoe rescue portion
- Notebook and pencil
