The NWTRPA Conference is an opportunity for community members from across the NWT to discuss trends and issues in recreation and On the Land programs, and receive training related to programming and leadership. This year our annual conference will focus on Recovery and Recreation. You can learn more about our conference program & register now here.
Our staff have gathered the top 3 reasons to attend the NWTRPA Annual Conference:
1. Get Inspired!
When you attend our conference, you’ll discover that you’re not alone in wanting to improve your skills and bring something back to your office or organization. Conference Attendees are willing to take time away from the office to learn something new and “better” themselves and their programs.
Conference sessions such as our Bright Spots event celebrate innovation and success in recreation and On the Land programming in the NWT. Each year, we welcome presenters from around the territory to tell us about their inspiring programs or events.
You will return from our conference feeling invigorated and excited! New ideas and approaches learned from leaders in the Recreation and On the Land, sectors will make you more effective and efficient at work.
2. Make Real Connections
New opportunities to connect are the best things that come out of our conference.
Social media keeps us connected to our friends and colleagues across the NWT, however, there’s no substitution for meeting someone IRL (in real life), with the bonus that there will be no Wi-Fi or internet delays to keep you from connecting and learning!
Meeting with your peers that have the same interests and goals to succeed is indispensable. Project collaborations can occur immediately or even years after a connection is made, that’s why is important to develop relationships to learn and grow.
3. Attend our AGM & have your say in the NWTRPA as an organization!
Our Annual General Meeting will take place during this year’s conference.
Membership is included in Conference Registration this year, so all Conference attendees will have the opportunity to participate in the AGM.
For more information about the AGM or NWTRPA Membership, email us at admin@nwtrpa.org.
Additional Bonus: Enjoy the warm hospitality of Thebacha/Fort Smith, NWT, and take in the beautiful scenery of the traditional territory of the Indigenous Peoples of the Salt River First Nation, Smith's Landing First Nation, and the Northwest Territory Métis Nation.
We hope that the 2022 conference will be a space of learning, growth, and personal connection for you.
