We’re excited to welcome Jeanne Yurris to the NWTRPA team as the Membership and Communications Coordinator!
Jeanne was born and raised in Sǫ̀mba K’e/Yellowknife. Jeanne grew up speed skating and playing hockey and has represented Team NWT at the Arctic Winter Games and Canada Games as an athlete, coach, and mission staff. Jeanne graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Kinetics from St. Francis Xavier University in 2016. Jeanne has a diverse education and work experience and is looking forward to applying her communications knowledge to her new role at the NWTRPA.
Jeanne is passionate about creating inclusive spaces in her community and has been volunteering with Special Olympics NWT for over 5 years.
When she is not on the ice with the Yellowknife Women’s hockey league, Jeanne can be found reading a good book or spending time outdoors cross-country skiing. In the summer months, Jeanne enjoys golfing, kayaking and camping.
