Celebrate June is Recreation and Parks month with Get Active & Water Saftey Grants!

“We’re encouraging community groups to host physically active events that celebrate June is Recreation and Parks month.

Taking part in recreation and land-based programs is an easy way to improve your overall wellbeing, so get active NWT!”

- Sheena Tremblay, Executive Director of the NWTRPA

We are excited to announce that we will be offering Get Active grants for events taking place in June, to celebrate June is Recreation and Parks Month (JRPM).

Get Active encourages NWT residents to apply for funding to help community members get involved in healthy recreational activities. Community organizations who apply for Get Active grants can receive $400 to organize and deliver one community-oriented physically active event, or purchase equipment for their community.

To celebrate June also being Senior Citizens' Month, there is a $500 grant available to host one older adult-focused physically active event.

Teach water safety in your community!

Swim To Survive® And Water Smart grants are available to assist organizations in hosting water safety learning events. All events must be free and open to the public.

Applications are open now, with a deadline of October 2022.
