Membership
Our membership consists of Municipal, Community and First Nation Governments, Youth/Students, Non-Government Organizations, Corporations, and Recreational Professionals.
We are continually working on programs and services that will better serve our membership and NWT communities.
MEMBER BENEFITS:
ADVOCACY
Involvement in the NWTRPA provides the opportunity to contribute to policies
and positions which affect the future direction of recreation and parks
in the Northwest Territories. Through our affiliation with CPRA and the
CRFC, an opportunity is available to influence national recreational issues.
We work with National and Territorial partners, the NWT Active Living Strategy, Diabetes Prevention, the Recreational Facilities Operators Program (RFOP), Trans Canada Trail development, the Recreational Leaders Program (RLP), and active living promotion.
EDUCATION
Membership provides you the opportunity to attend our Annual
Conference This annual event profiles high quality speakers on emerging
northern and national issues. We also offer ongoing workshop training
events such as our Active Communities
workshops.
INFORMATION
& NETWORKING
All members receive a newsletter,
our NWT Sport and Recreation Directories,
information on Recreation Leaders Day,
and the Trans Canada Trail. We
also offer member communities assistance with Aquatics
Recruitment and Training.
Members maximize their professional development by sharing information, experiences and expertise with other leaders. Participation in the Association provides personal and professional development and the opportunity to contribute to the field of Recreation and Parks. The NWTRPA maintains this website with Association information and links to other important sources of information.
