Thank You Walk to Tuk Sponsors!

Walk to Tuk is celebrating nine years of encouraging Northerners to stay active in the winter months. The success of Walk to Tuk is due in large part to the generous contributions of some very special Northern businesses. We would like to take a few minutes to express our gratitude to the businesses that have contributed to Walk to Tuk 2019!

NWT & Nunavut Lotteries has been an annual source of support for the NWT Recreation and Parks Association and Walk to Tuk. The Challenge never would have become so successful without their help!

Another long-standing sponsor deserving of thanks is First Air. The airline has been involved since the very first Walk to Tuk. All of the participants who successfully make it to Tuk in 2019 will be entered into a draw for a First Air flight pass, an excellent reward for the dedication needed to stay active during the dark winter months of Walk to Tuk.

Walk to Tuk is excited to welcome another major sponsor for the second year in a row; Dominion Diamond Corporation has generously agreed to sponsors the popular “I Walked to Tuk” t-shirts. These t-shirts are given to all participants whose team reaches Tuktoyaktuk by February 28, 2019. Stay tuned for the vote to choose the 2019 t-shirt colour!

Lawson Lundell LLP has recognized the value and importance of team captains to the success of Walk to Tuk. Team captains motivate team members, compile team minutes, submit team walking times, photos and stories, and organize group walks. Thanks to this fine business, we are able to properly thank team captains with a team captain draw prize.

Another prize awarded at the end of Walk to Tuk is the corporate team draw prize which is sponsored again this year by Dragon Toner. Thank you, Dragon Toner, for your generosity!

At the end of Walk to Tuk we encourage communities and teams to acknowledge the significant efforts made by participants with a celebration. Thanks to the contributions of the Inuvialuit Regional Corporation, the month of March will once again be marked by Walk to Tuk celebrations across the territory.

On behalf of the NWTRPA and Walk to Tuk participants, THANK YOU SPONSORS! Your contributions are essential to the success of Walk to Tuk 2019. If you’re a Walk to Tuk participant, supporting these Northern businesses is a great way to encourage future giving.
