In this week-long training series you have the option to participate in 3 different trainings.
QUEST 2 is a pre-requisite to being able to take the Train the Trainer.
Train the Trainer is to become a qualified HIGH FIVE® trainer. This will allow you to offer HIGH FIVE® trainings to your staff, organization, and/or community. This will certify you to teach Principles of Healthy Child Development and SPORT.
Trainer: Strengthening Children’s Mental Health is to become a qualified HIGH FIVE® trainer to teach this specific program. There is no pre-requisite to taking this training.
COST: For costs please see the application form. Choose the application based on whether you are an NWT resident or non-NWT resident.

This one-day training helps supervisors improve risk management in children’s programs by learning how to assess and measure quality with the HIGH FIVE scientifically validated QUEST 2 Tool. Supervisors will use the QUEST 2 Tool and learn how to enter their data into the HIGH FIVE Database to track their organization’s progress as well as identify areas of need. They will also learn how to debrief the results of the assessments with staff in a positive way. (This course is required to take the Train the Trainer.
Note: If you have already taken QUEST 2 you do not need to attend this day. QUEST 2 is required to be able to take Train the Trainer.
Train the Trainer: Principles of Child Development and SPORT

Becoming a PHCD and SPORT HIGH FIVE® Trainer, is a 3-day training designed for people responsible for training staff in an organization or simply interested in helping to deliver training to multiple agencies who believe in ensuring children have the best way to play! It helps organizations improve the quality of programs by making a commitment to continuous improvement in the area of healthy child development and training delivery.
Trainer: Strengthening Children’s Mental Health

This one-day training is designed for the person responsible for training staff in an organization or community setting. Using the latest evidence-based research, knowledge and resources this experienced facilitator will be able to deliver Strengthening Children’s Mental Health training, a new training developed with the Canadian Mental Health Association, Ontario being offered by HIGH FIVE®. It builds on an organization’s commitment to continuous improvement in the area of healthy child development and training delivery. Topics include key concepts related to children’s mental health, strategies to help staff promote positive mental health, understanding the effects of stress and environment, and responding appropriately to mental health conditions in children.
