The Bronze Medallion Award teaches an understanding of the lifesaving principles embodied in the four components of water rescue education – judgment, knowledge, skill and fitness. Rescuers learn tows and carries, and defence and release method in preparation for challenging rescues of increased risk involving conscious and unconscious victims of various types. Lifesavers develop stroke efficiency and endurance in a timed swim.

Prerequisites – Ability to swim a few strokes with good endurance for a distance of 500 meters and 13 years of age OR Bronze Star Award.

When: January 5 & 6 or 12 & 13
