Get Active 2014/2015
Today the NWT Recreation and Parks Association, in partnership with the Government of the Northwest Territories Department of Municipal and Community Affairs and First Air announced the start of the 2014/2015 Get Active program.
Get Active encourages NWT residents to apply for funding to help community members get involved in healthy physical activities. Those who apply for Get Active grants can receive $750 to organize and deliver three community oriented physical activity events or $1000 for Elders events. Events must be free to the public.
“I encourage community groups to host community physical activity events,” said Mr. Geoff Ray, Executive Director of the NWTRPA. “Physical activity makes you happy and feel good, so get active NWT!”
