The NWTRPA is looking for organizations in the NWT that have seen particular success or positive response with one of their initiatives (programs, events, etc.). We will be choosing four organizations to present on their Bright Spot at the NWTRPA Annual Conference in September. The chosen presenters will prepare a 15 minute presentation (provided to the NWTRPA the week before the conference) and be flown to Yellowknife, all expenses paid.

New Horizons for Seniors Program
Organizations that want to help seniors make a difference in the lives of others and in their communities are eligible to receive federal grants and contributions funding.
The nomination guide includes nomination guidelines and instructions for completing the Nomination Package. The complete Nomination Package must be submitted to the Arctic Inspiration Prize office byFriday, 30 September 2016.
The call will be happening Monday July 11th at 11am.
For those communities with supervisors (pool or waterfront) wanting to join the call, please contact Rose Johnson ([email protected] or 403-406-9475) by Friday July 8th at 5pm.
Call participants will be asked to share information about their aquatic experience thus far and any events that are planned for the summer.

Cold Water Immersion Workshop The Canadian Safe Boating Council (CSBC) will be hosting a 2-day Cold Water Rescue Instructors’ Workshop.This course is tailored for individuals already working or volunteering as a rescuer or first responder in a teaching capacity with basic knowledge of the effects of cold water and cold water immersion.
