Trail Building Fund

The NWT Recreation & Parks Association Trail Building Fund provides funding to all NWT communities for trail development.

The Trail Building Fund is specifically for the development of community-based recreation trails. Community based recreation trails are trails that are located within the community, are easily accessible by residents and tourists and are not intended for wilderness trails or territorial/national Park trails.

Funding is available to NWTRPA members who meet all of the criteria listed in the application and who submit a proposal to the NWTRPA.  There is currently no application deadline - project proposals are being accepted on an on-going basis.

Financial support for the Trail Building Fund has been received from the Department of Municipal and Community Affairs and the Trans Canada Trail Foundation.
