Over the next new few months the NWTRPA Will be doing a series of profiles on HIGH FIVE trainers throughout the NWT. This month’s profile is on Cynthia White:

1. Where are you from, where do you work and what’s your position?
I am the Community Services Program Coordinator for the Town of Fort Smith.

2. When did you start with HIGH FIVE?
I took my first HIGH FIVE training at the RPA conference in Fort Smith in 2013. I started down the path to becoming a trainer in 2015 with Strengthening Children’s Mental Health and in 2016 with PHCD and Quest 2.

3. The most important thing you’ve learned teaching any of the HIGH FIVE courses?
The foundations of HIGH FIVE are spot on but sometimes we have to be creative when dealing with our small community situations.

4. One random fact about yourself?
I have 4 dogs (I know a little crazy) and they are the only reason I leave the house in the winter.

5. If you could have any super power what would it be and why?
To be able to breathe underwater because then I would know that I was the heir to the lost city of Atlantis. But seriously I love the ocean and think it is the most beautiful place on the planet (the warmer the water the better though).
