 January 7, 2019
Posted by NWT Recreation and Parks Association

The Reel Paddling Film Festival is returning to the NWT this winter. The NWTRPA will be co-presenting screenings of the festival in Fort Smith and Yellowknife in January and February. The screenings are an opportunity to celebrate a land-based activity popular in the North and raise money for local paddling clubs and paddling programs.

What is the Reel Paddling Film Festival?

The Reel Paddling Film Festival is an international adventure film tour presenting the world’s best paddling films of the year—whitewater, sea kayaking, canoeing, SUP, action, and lifestyle—in more than 120 cities and towns across Canada, the United States, and around the world.

Festival films range from short comedy sketches to hair-raising adventures to inspiring documentaries representing a new level of achievement in paddlesports filmmaking and storytelling.

The Reel Paddling Film Festival World Tour is produced by Rapid Media.

Where Can I See the Films?

  • Yellowknife: This screening, which is being co-presented by Western Arctic Moving Pictures (WAMP), will take place on Saturday, February 23, 2018, at 7.30pm at the Top Knight.
