Apply for a 2020/21 Water Safety Grant

 December 2, 2020
Posted by NWT Recreation and Parks Association

Organizations are encouraged to apply for the following grant categories to teach water safety in their community.

There are two (1) grant categories:
1. Water Smart learning Event
2. Swim to Survive Event

Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Half of the grant will be sent upon application approval, and the remaining half of the grant will be sent once a final report is submitted (a template will be provided). Final reports must be submitted by March 15, 2021. Late reports will not be accepted; the remainder of the grant will not be released if late.

If you are an individual looking to apply for a grant, please note that unfortunately, we cannot issue cheques to individuals. We can only issue cheques to organizations. If you would like to do something for your community but are not part of an organization, reach out to a local organization in your community to see if they can accept a cheque on your behalf, work with you to host events, or work with you to purchase and manage recreation equipment for community use.

IMPORTANT: Any use of grant funds must be in line with GNWT public health directives at the time the grant is used (for events, this means at the time of the event); please also read up-to-date guidelines for Gatherings and Events. Emerging Wisely: Path to Eased Public Health Restrictions should also be consulted.

If you have any questions or would like help with your application, please contact our Active Communities Director, Bri Krekoski, by email (bkrekoski@nwtrpa.org), or by phone (867-669-8381).
