All communities in the NWT are either situated on or near a lake, river, or ocean. Swimming and water safety are important for NWT residents, which is the basis of the NWTRPA’s Aquatics Program. Community aquatics programs are typically the most popular recreation programs that offer training, recreation, and fitness all in one!
The Swim to Survive® NWT Family Grant allows organizations working with families (i.e. schools, foster groups, churches, youth tournaments, etc) to apply to receive $850 to organize and host a free Swim to Survive® family event at one of the Regional Aquatic Training Centres (RATC’s).
